“YOU CAN’T GO HOME AGAIN”

The first page of this arc is always so incredible. it really sets the tone for the arc and is just so beautiful to me. The title is perfect.

Lex is so annoying. I’m not even going to gripe every time he pisses me off because this review would be unending. Apparently he has live video of what Mae is seeing in the main universe, which is insane. How does that work? It’s completely unexplained.

The coloring is really messy during this era of Mae comics. it really does get on my nerves. Regardless, Mae looks very cute in most of this. She’s also beating Clark’s ass, which is always beautiful to see.

Mae and Lex first meet here! There’s a little note in the ‘They Saved Luthor’s Brain’ paperback from Lex’s perspective that adds a bit to this scene, I feel. Still, important foundation for future Mae and Lex 2 plots.

This issue establishes that her universe is in the past and that time moves much slower there than in the main universe! Superboy disappeared 10 years ago (a few weeks for Clark) and Mae was created 2 years ago (as of this comic, ofc).

Overall, pretty comic for the most part with fine writing. it’s mostly set up for future issues, but it lays the groundwork for many many future Mae stories!
