I love all of the backgrounds from the Byrne era. He does beautiful night scenes here and in Supergirl Saga and it’s really one of my favourite parts of his Mae comics. the Antarctica scientists drink and smoke cigarettes while playing cards. Mae comes in confused and the scientists try to get her to sit and tell them who she is, but she says she can’t remember anything other than her being Supergirl. She’s soooo beautiful here, definitely my favourite art of her so far (and probably for a while). I love the poses she takes on in the two standing shots we get of her and she truly just looks great. The seated panel where they’re trying to warm her up has her looking so silly to me, especially when followed up with her dramatic declaration. Still no pointed sleeves or skirt.
