Total Justice was a toy line by Kenner from the 90s featuring DC characters in new suits with extra tech. There’s a tie-in comic from 1996, as well as a series of coloring books and a paint with water book. In 1998, they came out with an audio adventure, called “Total Justice: The Ultimate Weapon,” an 8 episode poorly disguised advertisement for the toys. Each episode is based on a different genre of music, and features a couple of the Total Justice version of the Justice League.

Mae primarily appears in one episode, starring aside Aquaman (I believe it’s Arthur), “Aqua Funk.” Her and Aquaman fight Darkseid while trying to find a piece of the Ultimate Weapon. I do like her voice in this, and the characterisation isn’t bad. I appreciate there not being any references to her fusion–this could be any version of Mae, and I think that adds a lot to my enjoyment. The entire audio adventure is just so hilariously bad and obviously advertising. The entire thing is available on Youtube, and I highly recommend you give it a listen. They’re constantly stopping the story to talk about their fractal tech or explain what’s happening/what they’re doing. There are scenes where the singing/ad-libs/etc are just so hilariously obvious that it’s truly fantastic. One of those ‘so bad it’s good’ things for sure. This episode is one of the less egregious examples. Though, it starting with “Wet and wild, under the see, Aquaman’s here, swimming free” is just so good.
