I’ve made individual posts for most of these cards, and those are linked in the title–even y’all subscribed to the newsletter won’t have been notified about those posts individually (because I felt like spamming y’all at 7 pm wouldn’t be polite) so make sure to check out those, since I have specific commentary/reviews attached.
1. 1992 Skybox Doomsday: The Death of Superman #61 – And Now — Supergirl. This card features the moment where Mae joins in the fight against Doomsday before failing to accomplish much of anything.
2. 1992 Skybox Funeral For A Friend #C3 – Action Comics #685, #C4 – Superman: Man of Steel #20, #C5 – Superman #76, and #C7 – Action Comics #686. The back side of this card set combines to form the Funeral for a Friend funeral procession. Each of these cards features a cover from the event.
6. 1993 Skybox Return of Superman #1 – Reign of the Supermen! This is the cover of Superman (1987) #82. This cover was also used in advertising for the arc. Fun fact, I actually wrote a rhetorical analysis of an ad that used it.
7. 1993 Skybox Return of Superman #27 – Supergirl! This card features a panel from Action Comics (1938) #691, from when Her, Steel, and Superman were exploring within Engine (Coast) City. The card is notable because in the comic itself, this image is partially obscured by speech bubbles.
8. 1993 Skybox Return of Superman #28 – Boy Meets Girl! This is adapted from the cover of The Adventures of Superman (1987) #502. It’s interesting seeing how the Reign of the Supermen wasn’t initially considered as separate from the Return of Superman. This issue is definitely part of the Reign of the Supermen, but it’s included both here in this card set and in the Return of Superman trade paperback.
9. 1993 Skybox Cosmic Teams #131 – Luthor II. Lex appears standing on the front of this card, but on the back is this: unseen before original Butch Guice art of the two of them lying together. The note references Action Comics (1938) #676, their first meeting post-They Saved Luthor’s Brain, but this art appears nowhere in that comic. This card probably has one of the only references to Gretchen Kelley in her canonical comics form outside of those comics themselves, with the little trivia question.

Post on this set coming soon–I need to do further research into the TCG as a whole first. If you have info, please send it to me!
